Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/OpenEPaperLink/OpenEPaperLink/issues/548
I added support for OpenEpaperLink in EspHomeDesinger for version 0.9
I can not test it myself as I do not have a single compatible device so if anyone wants to test it and let me know if it works, that would be much appreciated!
https://github.com/koosoli/ESPHomeDesigner/tree/testing (again you will need version 0.9 not 0.8).
P.s. Parsing is supported as well, so you can preview your code right in the editor

If you mention this on the discord #home_assistant channel you'll probably get more people to test.
Sounds cool, but I really don't do HA.
@jonasniesner commented on GitHub (Jan 28, 2026):
And also take a look at the OpenEperLink to OpenDisplay transition for the Home assistant integration. I can test your tool later.
@jonasniesner commented on GitHub (Jan 28, 2026):
It would be great if you can joint the Discord https://discord.gg/XmTHz8RfJE so we can talk what you want us to test. Most of the devices on the list are compatible with OpenDisplay so if you have a BLE proxy, you could flash a device for testing. I can also send you some devices for testing.

I assume you wanted to answer something to the previous message, but it looks like your reply got lost somehow ;)
@koosoli commented on GitHub (Jan 28, 2026):
Strange... Just wanted to say you can deploy it also without Home assistant :-)
@koosoli commented on GitHub (Feb 1, 2026):
Did anyone had a chance to test it, would love to ship it soon to main. Thanks

I gave some feedback on discord. To summ it up, you might want to looks for some hallucinations in the OpenDisplay code because it mentions things that do not exist. And custom display sizes do not work. If you DM me, I can send you some OpenEpaperLink and OpenDisplay Displays for testing if you want so you can install OpenEpaperLink and or Opendisplay and get to know the workflow for them.
