The LilyGo T-Panel S3 is a standard off the shelf product from Lilygo which can be used as an OEPL AP without modifications with 802.15.4 and Bluetooth based tags.
Important
The "Lite" version of the T-Panel can not be used as an OEPL AP since it lacks a ESP32-H2 processor.
Installing OpenEPaperLink AP firmware on the LilyGo T-Panel
Step 1: Connect the T-Panel's S3 USB port to PC.
Step 2: Force the S3 into programming mode.
Step 3: Goto https://install.openepaperlink.de/ and select the T-Panel AP.
Step 4:. Click connect
Step 5: Select the COM port corresponding to the T-Panel and click Connect.
Step 6: Click "INSTALL OPENEPAPERLINK"
Step 7: Confirm the installation.
After a few minutes firmware installation on the S3 should complete successfully.
Now we need to install the OpenEPaperLink RF coprocessor firmware on the H2.
Step 8: Connect the T-Panel's H2 USB port to PC.
Step 9: Force the S3 into programming mode.
Since the OpenEPaperLink S3 firmware will periodically reset the H2 if it isn't communicating as expected we need to force the S3 into programming mode again to prevent it from interferring with flashing the H2 (see step 2 above).
- Force the H2 into programming mode.
- Flash the H2.
Follow steps 3 though 7 above again. This time flashing the firmware should be much quicker.
- Power cycle the T-panel and you are finished!
You should end up with S3 version 2.75 or later and H2 version 001f or later. If this is not the case head continue here to update.
See ticket #420 for more information.
